Job Summary:

Cooks should anticipate working across all stations and using all kitchen equipment. Depending on the venue, you can anticipate working multiple stations that include batch production, high volume ala carte, prep, pantry, and banquets.

 

The Details:

  • Position Type: Full-time, year-round preferred, some seasonal positions may be available

  • Start Dates: January 2024

  • Pay: $18.55 - $20.90/hr DOE

  • Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Responsible for the quality, food safety/sanitation, and timeliness of meals prepared.

  • Ensure consistency in techniques to be used for proper food preparation, portioning and plating as outlined in recipes, product rotation and mise en place.

  • Prepares a variety of food items using knives, electric mixers, ovens, fryers, gas stoves, griddles, and broilers.

Qualifications:

  • Specific qualifications vary by cook level and will be discussed during the interview process.


 

Front Desk Agent

Job Summary:
We are looking for a Front Desk Agent to ensure a high-level of guest service by greeting and registering guests, checking out guests, taking reservations, ensuring billing accuracy, and answering/directing phone calls at the Oasis at Death Valley. Our mission is to provide legendary service to our guests visiting from all over the world, and your work is instrumental to our success!

 

The Details:

  • Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round

  • Start Dates: January 2024

  • Pay: $16.45/hr

  • Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities:

  • Receive all guests and other visitors in a positive, friendly, and professional manner.

  • Manage and resolve all guest complaints (and compliments) in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Respond to all guest and visitor requests, needs, and expectations in a timely and positive manner.

  • Maintain a high level of professional appearance and demeanor.

  • Answer phones in a professional and courteous manner.

  • Maintain billing accuracy for all guest accounts.

  • Keep an accurate bank while receiving cash and giving change per cash handling policies.

  • Ensure that the front desk, lobby and back office areas are clean and well organized.

  • Take reservations as needed, with a focus on maximizing occupancy and ADR by utilizing a flexible rate structure.

  • Receive payment and issue lunch vouchers for tour bus and other groups.

  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • At least 6 months of previous customer service experience.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Pleasant personality and the ability to deal with a wide variety of people.

  • Computer or hotel computer experience.

  • Ability to work quickly and thoroughly when under pressure.

  • Must be flexible and open to changes in procedures.

  • Ability to attend to more than one task at a time.

  • Must adhere to grooming standards.

  • Must be available for both AM and PM front desk shifts.

  • Valid driver's license required.

 

Irrigation Technician


 

We’re hiring an Irrigation Technician to Live. Work. Explore. in Death Valley National Park!

Job Summary:
Maintain and manage irrigation systems and performance by observation of turf and plant material conditions at the Oasis at Death Valley. This position will implement corrective action for over-watering or lack of watering and report problems to grounds supervisor. Our mission is to provide legendary service to our guests visiting from all over the world, and your work is instrumental to our success!

 

The Details:

  • Position Type: Full-Time, Year-Round 

  • Season Dates: November or December 

  • Pay: $19.15/hr 

  • Schedule: Typical schedule is 40 hours, 5 days/per week (may include weekends, evenings, and holidays)

Responsibilities: 

  • Maintain assigned irrigation area

  • Repair pipe breaks (PVC and Poly)

  • Troubleshoot malfunctioning sprinkler heads

  • Identify and repair electrical problems

  • Maintain, identify and correct irrigation clock problems

  • Spot-water dry areas

  • Document daily activities; maintain accurate repair records

  • Conduct continual visual inspections of areas

  • Familiarize irrigation systems through irrigation plans and as-builts

  • Assist with irrigation projects

  • Assist in irrigation system start up and winterizing

  • Assist with daily grounds maintenance

  • Apply preventative maintenance programs for maximum irrigation efficiency

  • Maintain clean and organized workstations in the irrigation parts room and assigned equipment

  • Recognize safety hazards and act accordingly

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Knowledge of basic electrical and hydraulics related to the system including valves, controllers and pumps.

  • Ability to operate light motorized equipment.

  • Knowledge of tools, methods and materials used in grounds maintenance work.

  • Ability to follow oral and written directions.

  • Valid California Driver’s License

  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)

  • Minimum 6 months of relevant experience and basic knowledge of irrigation parts.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs. up to shoulder height.

  • Must be able to withstand working in extreme temperatures.

  • Must be able to work on feet for at least 8 hours per day.
