Hiring:
Head Chef
The Head chef will be responsible for overseeing and directing 6-8 kitchen staff, managing and organizing all meals for both guests and crew, ordering supplies and food.
A successful candidate will be an upbeat, active, self-motivated person who takes pride in the art of cooking. A demonstrated ability to effectively lead, manage and inspire staff is key.
Duties:
Preparing high quality meals for 50-70 people, three times daily
Leading, managing, and delegating tasks to 6-8 kitchen staff
Creating a friendly work environment for staff and a fun experience for guests
Qualifications:
Experience managing a kitchen and kitchen staff
Experience providing high quality meals for large numbers of people (50+)
Hospitality experience
Basic computer skills (namely Word and Excel)
Ability to maintain an upbeat, positive attitude during times of high stress
Excellent communications skills
Self-motivated and able to work independently
Passionate about ranch life and sharing this unique lifestyle with others
First Aid/CPR
Ability to lift 50 pounds
Baker/Breakfast Cook
This position takes the lead on guest and staff breakfast each morning as well as any baking needs for the meal service. This position is responsible for assisting the head cook in meal preparation, assumes head cook duties on cook's off day or as needed, baking breads and desserts, maintaining a clean, safe kitchen and equipment. Must be able to work with other team members, and be able to direct others on small tasks and be comfortable with early mornings. We are looking for conscientious individuals with excellent attention to detail.
Cabin Staff/Server
Our cabin staff are responsible for expert and very detailed cabin cleaning, doing ranch laundry, keeping the laundry area clean and organized, and any additional tasks as needed for maintaining good customer service associated with guest comfort. Will assist in the kitchen and around the ranch when cleaning duties are fulfilled. Will assist in serving meals in the dining room when needed.
Babysitter
Responsible for children, infant to five years old. High level of energy, enthusiasm, and genuine love of children required. Must have ability to lead children through a variety of planned activities including lead around horseback walking, fishing, hiking, arts and crafts. Willing to get “down and dirty” with the kids. Must closely supervise their activities and safety for a routine schedule, including having lunch and dinner with them. On weeks when we do not have children 5 years of age or under the babysitter will assist in cabin cleaning and food prep.
Kitchen Team Member
Our kitchen staff is responsible for meal preparation, dishwashing, maintaining a clean, well-organized kitchen, and ordering supplies and equipment for serving our guests 3 hot meals daily. The kitchen assistant/dishwasher will work split duties between part-time food prep and part-time dishwashing. Kitchen responsibilities are directed by the Head Cook.
Wrangler
Horse experience required. Must be safety conscious, have the ability to instruct guests and have strong communication and interpersonal skills. Responsible for conducting safe trail rides for groups of all ridding levels. Maintain and repair tack. Clean barn and arena area daily. Willing to perform other maintenance duties as assigned including feeding, trail maintenance, fencing, etc. Willing to work long hours. CPR and First Aid required. Must have good driving record as you may be driving ranch vehicles. Required to have neat and clean appearance, and dress in western style. Cowboy hat, cowboy boots, and collared shirts required.

The Nine Quarter Circle Dude Ranch located between Big Sky and West Yellowstone Montana, on the edge of the Yellowstone National Park. Truly nestled in the mountains, our staff spend a summer in a special and remote landscape.

The Employee Experience
At the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch, employees experience work without a commute, have meals provided, and spend their days nestled in Montana's mountains--some mornings you might even spot a grizzly bear or moose walking across the ranch. Ranch work can require long days, but the experience employees gain at the NQCR is irreplaceable. The NQCR offers employees an opportunity to get away from the hustle and bustle of our fast-paced world and build relationships that truly do last a lifetime.
We offer employees the opportunity to horseback ride on days off (except Sundays), and there are many hiking, biking, fishing and boating opportunities right out the front door. If you enjoy the outdoors, the NQCR is positioned perfectly for you.
Ideal Candidate
All of our ranch jobs provide an opportunity for you to meet new friends, develop new job skills, and discover new things about yourself and the area around you. If you have the ability to be flexible and act immediately as circumstances arise to support our guests and other staff members and you are genuinely friendly and not afraid of hard work, you may be the person for the Nine Quarter Circle Ranch. We are willing to work with staff to help fulfill internship requirements if employees want to pursue that route.
Room and Board
Men live in 2-3 person cabins and have a shared bathroom area nearby. Women have a bunkhouse that has a bathroom facility. Men and women have a shared commonplace.
Wi-Fi is available in designated areas, as are coin-op laundry facilities.
All meals are provided.
Employee Perks
All positions are paid monthly, on the first of each month and include room and board. All positions have 1.5 assigned days off per week. Horseback riding is offered on days off (except Saturdays & Sundays).
Our ranch is located in the heart of the Madison Range. On days off, employees can easily enjoy hiking, fishing, mountain biking, and other outdoor activities. We're also nearby the town of Big Sky and Bozeman, which have many restaurants and shops to explore.
Getting Here and Getting Around
We are 58 miles south of Bozeman, MT, and are 35 miles from West Yellowstone, MT, and five miles west on a gravel road located off from U.S. 191.
If you plan to arrive by air or bus, we will meet you in either Bozeman or West Yellowstone, MT, and bring you to the ranch. Having your own vehicle is a good idea for non-ranch activities, especially if you'd like to experience Yellowstone on your time off.
For Fun
Horseback riding is available on your day off (Mon-Fri), and of course, there are miles of back-country hiking trails right out the ranch door and Yellowstone National Park just down the road!
Bozeman is a little over an hour from the ranch with great restaurants, stores, hiking, biking, and hot springing. Big Sky is only about half an hour away.
Softball games and square dances with our guests are mandatory but fun, too.
