Porters


 

The role of the porter is to work with the Front Office team to provide all guests of the hotel an exceptional experience. Porters are the face of the hotel, greeting guests at the ferry dock and upon arrival to the property. Porters handle all luggage transportation from the ferry docks to the shuttle, up to the hotel and guestrooms.

Responsibilities:

  • Maintain an enthusiastic attitude, being helpful to guests and team members

  • Transport luggage to and from guestrooms and/or ferry boats to hotel shuttles

  • Provide guests with directions and recommendations

  • Ensure the lobby and entrance remain organized and clean

Requirements:

  • High School diploma or GED

  • Ability to work outdoors and transport luggage up two flights of stairs

  • Be able to speak and understand English

  • Be self-motivated and use time wisely


 

Grounds & Maintenance


 

The Grounds/Maintenance Team are responsible for maintaining the overall appearance and working order of the hotel. This position must be able to work independently as well as with others. The maintenance position requires overall maintenance knowledge. Additional duties as assigned.

Responsibilities:

  • Clean carpets and rugs

  • Transport heavy boxes and packages within the hotel for maintenance and repairs

  • Assist in delivering and setup of all new equipment such as televisions, mattresses, tables, chairs, bikes, etc.

  • Communicate with management on projects as assigned

  • Respond to all guest requests in a timely and personable manner

  • Operating lawn mowers, weed whips, etc.

Requirements:

  • High School or equivalent education

  • Ability to work outdoors and lift twenty-five pounds

  • Be able to speak and understand English
