Mountain Bike Mechanic & Guide

Do you have the skills to keep a fleet of mountain bikes running smoothly, and a desire to get out and show guests some of the most amazing places in the Desert Southwest? If so, this might be the right job for you. We are looking for someone to oversee the maintenance of our rental bikes and guide trips out of our Green River, Utah, location. We offer trips on the White Rim Trail and the Maze districts of Canyonlands National Park as well as areas surrounding Moab and in the San Rafael Swell.

Same compensation as a rafting guide. Most do both river and bike guiding.

Drivers

Would you like to help get our guests safely to and from their backcountry trips? As a driver for Holiday you would be responsible for driving 15-passenger vans with trailers to our put in and take out points. You need to be at least 23 years old and have a clean driving record. This can be a great way to get started with us and get your foot in the door if you are unable to make it to our guide training, or if we have filled all of our openings for guides. Oftentimes our drivers will transition into a guide position in subsequent seasons.

Warehouse Workers

If you are unable to make it to our training held in the beginning of May, or are not old enough to become a guide yet, this role may be just the right one to get your foot in the door. We need dedicated staff to perform the behind-the-scenes support for our backcountry trips. This is not glamorous work, but it is absolutely essential to the business: your efforts are often the first interaction our guests have with us. From greeting them as they arrive for their trip, to cleaning gear after trips, to preparing food, your work is the foundation of our operations. Sweeping, cleaning, repairing gear as well as taking care of our grounds are other duties. In addition to receiving a fair hourly wage and room and board, you will also get out on a few multi-day river trips during the summer to get a feel for what our guests and guides are all excited about. We look for warehouse staff that desire to become a river guide in future seasons.

Vehicle and Building Maintenance

Are you a generalist, a “MacGyver”, a renaissance person? Are you someone who has no problem grabbing a wrench and getting under a van, jumping on the roof to fix a swamp-cooler and trouble-shooting a washing machine on the fritz? Do you have hard-skills like basic welding or carpentry that our tech-saturated society rarely celebrates?  This might be the job for you!

We are looking for someone with a wide breadth of vehicle, building, and maintenance experience to join our fun-loving team.  This job, located in the town of Green River, Utah would have you working alongside outdoor enthusiasts. Over the course of our season you would also have time to sample the incredible river canyons and bike trails we operate across!

Warehouse Workers, Drivers & Vehicle & Building Maintenance Entry-Level - Pay: starting $15/hour compensation package.

Additional Information About Holiday River Expeditions

About Holiday River Expeditions -“The Holiday Way” is more than a catchphrase—it’s a way of life. The Holiday Way is how we interact with the world, both as a business and as human beings. It began with our founders, Dee and Sue Holladay, and their passion for the world around them, and it’s still going strong, over 56 years later.

The Holiday Way is going with the flow, running river trips without motors. The rush of the wind, a chatty raven, or a churning rapid are the sounds that will define your trip. It’s award-winning environmental stewardship. It is a family-owned and operated company: big enough to have an impact, but small enough to provide personalized service. It’s well-trained guides who strive to do things the right way, every time. It’s comfortable gear and efficient operations. We’ve had more than 55 years to design systems and equipment that keep us working at the top of our game.

The Holiday Way is an open invitation to come float with us, to become literate in the landscapes that define us. We believe strongly that the best way to experience the world is by going out into it. “You have to go to know,” Dee always said. We’ll take you there.
