Hiring:
Counselor - Camp Lincoln
Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper. The Counselor is responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills, while maintaining a safe environment for campers and fellow staff. Counselors will be placed in a variety of different activities to serve as support for the activity specialist and director. Counselors live and work at the camp with all necessities provided. Community building and an overall positive outlook on life and the job are crucial for the success of a counselor. The job is challenging, but one of the most rewarding experiences you can have for yourself and the youth you lead.
Job Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English writing and speaking
Approved to work in the United States
In good physical health for the rigors of day to day programing
Being able to lift 5 – 50lbs
Can remain standing or walking for at least 2 hours at a time
Proficient swimming ability is not mandatory but highly encouraged
Willingness to abstain from Alcohol/drugs for the duration of employment
19+ in age or having completed 1 year of college prior to the start of the summer
Other Job Duties:
Contribute to verbal and written evaluations (for co-staff, campers and directors) and communication as requested
Counselor Letters, emails, and phone calls with parents
Participate enthusiastically in all camp activities.
Participate as a member of the camp staff team to deliver and supervise evening programs, special events, overnights, and other all-camp activities and camp functions.
Activity Specialist (Assistant) - Camp Lincoln
Activity Specialists assist in a specific activity at camp, for at least two out of four activity periods each day, while also performing duties as the primary caregivers for their group of six to nine campers. The Activity Specialist is responsible for working alongside the Activity Director in terms of planning, teaching, coordinating, and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills, while maintaining a safe environment for campers and staff. Applicants interested in an activity specialist role are interested in working with a focused activity while also participating in camp/cabin life.
Job Qualifications:
Must be fluent in English writing and speaking
Approved to work in the United States
In good physical health for the rigors of day to day programing
Being able to lift 5 – 50lbs
Can remain standing or walking for at least 2 hours at a time
Proficient swimming ability is not mandatory but highly encouraged
Willingness to abstain from Alcohol/drugs for the duration of employment

Comfortable leading activities in front of groups ranging from 10-30
Ability to write lesson plans and coordinate weekly schedules with other staff

Activity Director - Camp Lincoln
Activity Directors lead the most popular activities on camp and will assist in caregiving for each camper. The Activity Director is responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out their activities and guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills at their activities and within the cabin, while helping maintain a safe environment for campers and staff. They will lead their specific activity for each activity period every day. Applicants interested in an activity director position should be interested in working one activity for the entirety of their employment. These activities include: Crafts, Climbing, Barn/Riding, Riflery, Archery, Sailing, Waterskiing. These activities require the highest level of maintenance and care for the facilities and lesson plans. We do allow activity directors to be trained on site with little to no prior experience.

Division Directors oversee a group of cabins, called a Division, at camp: 2-week, Junior, Intermediate, or Senior
Program Directors supervise activity leaders and oversee the activity scheduling process for our campers and staff throughout their time at camp

Cabin & Activity Staff - Camp Lake Hubert
Head Counselors, Counselors, Activity Directors
At Camp Lake Hubert, all cabin staff are activity staff as well, and will assist or lead at least one activity at camp.
Counselors are the primary caregivers for each camper. Counselors are responsible for planning, teaching, coordinating, and carrying out activities within their teams as well as guiding campers in their personal growth and daily living skills.

Head Counselors have some previous camp experience and are responsible for their cabin team, providing leadership and mentorship to new counselors and representing their cabin in team meetings.

Support Staff - Camp Lincoln & Camp Lake Hubert
Food Service, Operations, Health Aides, Office Admin
Support Staff are an essential part of the camp community! At Camp Lake Hubert, our support staff are paired with a buddy cabin and will spend dedicated time most days getting to know their group of campers, though they will live in a support staff village apart from camper cabins.
Camp cannot run without an amazing kitchen to provide three nutritious meals per day! It takes a team to pull it off, starting with our Food Service generalists, who rotate stations from prepping ingredients to serving to stocking salad bars to washing dishes.

Cooks and Head Cooks oversee the daily flow of tasks in the kitchen and are responsible for the preparation of meals.

The Kitchen Manager heads the CLH team and works with the Director to plan menus, place orders, and receive inventory. The Kitchen Manager oversees the kitchen staff schedule.

Operations Staff are the source of what we call “camp magic!” These individuals assist with everything from mail delivery to material procurement to bedding management, and more! Help run the store, then jump in a van to drive campers to an off-site activity and be back in time to plan a special event. Each day is different and exciting, and our operations staff work closely with full-time leadership staff, making our ops team a great place for interns or folks who are investigating a jump into the camping industry.

Health Aides at Camp Lake Hubert assist our RNs and the Camp Doctor with daily care of our campers’ regular and emergency medical needs. Manage medications, perform first aid, and practice skills essential to your healthcare journey.

The Camp Lake Hubert Office Administrators collaborate with our Business Office to assist directors with parent communications, camper arrival & departure logistics, vehicle checkouts, lost & found, and more! As the first faces seen when visitors arrive at camp, our Office Administrators must embody camp spirit and love being around the campers in our care!

Camp Lake Hubert & Camp Lincoln, located in the Brainerd Lakes Area of Minnesota, are proud to provide youth with opportunities to build skills in more than forty activities and through community living. Entering our 115th year in operation, Camps Lincoln and Lake Hubert are excited to welcome you to our extensive network of camp professionals!
Every summer, we serve more than 600 campers aged 7 to 17, with over 200 staff who come from across the country and around the world. Our season runs for 12 weeks, with campers in attendance for 2- and 4-week sessions.
Our 2024 season will require staff to arrive mid- to late May with all-staff training beginning in early June. Our camper season will end in early August with opportunities for staff to extend their stay into a post-camp project season. Our last seasonal staff departure is in mid-September.
