Climbing Department Head


 

Come run our Climbing Program! We’re looking for an experienced climber, belayer and course-setter. Two 50-foot walls with 9 climbing routes, a bouldering pavilion and eagle’s walk. Oversee a staff of 3-4 counselors.

The Climbing Department Head lives on-site, but does not live with campers. Competitive Salary and Travel Allowance. Room and Board included. Mid-June to Mid-August.

Ropes Course Department Head


 

Come run our Aerial Park! We’re looking for an challenge and high-ropes course candidate. Aerial Park Program features a one-acre high-rise facility with 21 rope and cable bridges, 14 platforms and automatic Super Safe Belay system. Oversee a staff of 3-4 counselors.

The Aerial Park Department Head lives on-site, but does not live with campers. Competitive Salary and Travel Allowance. Room and Board included. Mid-June to Mid-August.

Waterski and Wakeboard Counselors

Camp Laurel’s waterski, wakeboard and wake surf program features four 2022 Malibu TXi’s and one 2022 Malibu VTX. We are on a beautiful 9-mile spring-fed lake. Instruct waterski, wakeboarding, wake surfing and kneeboarding 6-7 hours daily.

 

Sailing Counselors

The Small Crafts Program at Camp Laurel includes a fleet of Hobie Cats, Sunfish, Lasers, a Vanguard 420 and a Hunter 170. Sailing Counselors also instruct Stand Up Paddleboarding, Canoeing and Kayaking.

 

Swimming Counselors

Swimming counselors teach American Red Cross lessons and lifeguard during recreational swim periods. Our Swimming Program features swim lanes, snorkeling, an inflatable water park, water basketball and more!

 

Adventure Counselors

The Adventure Program features Climbing and High Ropes. Climbing includes two 50-foot climbing towers with nine wall faces, an eagle’s walk and a bouldering pavilion.

The ‘Aerial Park’ is our high ropes course showcasing a one-acre high-rise jungle gym with 21 rope and cable bridges, 14 platforms, Automatic Super Safe Belay system and several other elements.

 

Tennis Counselors

Camp Laurel’s Tennis Program features 15 outdoor, hard-surfaced courts. Under the direction of a former Division 1 Coach and experienced tennis pros, we provide instruction for all levels, intensive clinics, and tournament tennis for the more advanced player.

Ideally located in Maine’s Central Lakes Region, Camp Laurel has 150 acres of woodlands with 2,000 feet of natural shoreline. Our enthusiastic and exemplary staff provide a safe, fun, nurturing environment for children ages 7-15. Our staff consists of professionals, adventurers, experienced teachers, and collegians from over 35 states and 10 countries, all drawn together by a strong desire to live with, teach and care for children.

Modern, fully-equipped facilities and high-quality equipment enhance our sophisticated program comprised of six distinct areas including: Waterfront, Athletics, Tennis, Adventure, Inter-Arts and Horseback Riding.

COVID-19 Update

Despite the challenges of COVID-19, we are focused and energized for Camp Laurel and the upcoming summer. We were Covid free in 2021 and are actively preparing for every possibility and scenario this season - from “normal summer” to “modified bubble” and everything in between. By being flexible and utilizing this time to learn, collaborate and plan, we will open safely for our 73rd season. Our staffing team can provide more information on our preparations during the interview process.
