Wilderness Trip Leader


 

Camp Horseshoe, one of Wisconsin's premier residential camps, is a spirited, sports-oriented boys camp that emphasizes participation, healthy competition, exploring the outdoors and a well-rounded summer experience. 

Camp Horseshoe is known for its state-of-the-art facilities, meaningful traditions, and unique philosophy. Whether it be coaching athletics, or leading one of our wilderness trips, the opportunities to have an impact on a boy's life are tremendous.

Our campers and staff call the Horseshoe experience “amazing”, “indescribable” and “the best place on earth.” Our staff of 100+ provide a safe, fun, and rewarding experience for our campers ages 8-16. Working at Horseshoe offers the opportunity to make lifelong friends from across the nation and throughout the world.

You will have the opportunity to lead groups on outstanding adventures to places such as the Boundary Waters of Canada, Pictured Rocks on Lake Superior, the Lake of The Clouds in the Porcupine Mountains, and many more wonderful places. You will gain valuable experience, skills and knowledge for anyone seeking future employment in the outdoor adventure industry.

 

Responsibilities:

  • Lead groups on outstanding camping trips

  • Organize and prepare proper camping equipment to send out with groups 

  • Order and pack food for all camping trips

  • Provide maps and other logistical information for groups before they leave on their trip

  • Check in and maintain all camping equipment after a camping trip

  • Teach outdoor and camping skills to both campers and counselors

Qualifications

  • Relevant Camping/Outdoor Experience

 

 

Climbing Instructor/Waterfront/General Counselor


 

We are looking for talented, energetic cabin counselors and activity instructors in the following areas:

Team Sports: Baseball, Basketball, Football, Hockey, Lacrosse, Soccer, Volleyball

Individual Sports: Archery, Biking, Golf, Tennis

Water Sports: Canoe/Kayak, Fishing, Sailing, Swimming, Waterski/Wakeboarding

Outdoor Education: High/Low Ropes, Nature/Outdoor Skills, Trip Leaders

 

 

Office Manager


 

We are currently seeking a highly organized office manager to assist the administrative team during the summer. 

Job Responsibilities: This person will be the first person of contact when visitors arrive at camp, so it's imperative you enjoy interacting with people and working in a team environment.

  • Help collect and process camper and staff forms and paperwork

  • Return phone calls and messages

  • Support Leadership staff with office tasks

  • Managing the daily camp schedule including appointments, meetings, phone calls, activity periods, birthdays, etc.

  • Working efficiently in software and online-based programs like excel, google drive and others.

  • Ordering and managing office supplies
