Hiring:

Our Outdoor Trip Leaders run off site trips and on site skills clinics for a variety of High Adventure Sports! With permitted access to the best forests, rivers, lakes and trails in North Carolina our adventure opportunities are endless. We are seeking passionate and enthusiastic staff to inspire the next generation of outdoorsmen. Experience in at least one of the above sports required. We offer heavily subsided Wilderness First responder certifications and pay in full for staff to get cross-trained as lifeguards, raft guides, archers etc. Up to 4 weeks of intensive outdoors training provided. Work with staff from over 15 countries in a supportive and fun-loving environment and increase your skills as a trip guide, environmental educator and mentor.

• Rock Climbing Guides-Lead traditional, sport and bouldering positions available! Lead trips at premier locations such as Looking Glass and Linville Gorge. Subsizided SPI cert available.

• Backpacking Guides-Lead day and overnight trips in Pisgah Forest, Dupont Forest and Gorges State Park.

• Wakeboarding coaches-Run Wakeboarding trips at Lake Jocasee with brand new wake boats and equipment.

• Mountain Biking Coaches-Lead biking trips to Pisgah, Dupont and Tsali. Brand new fleet of bikes.

• Horse Trail Guides-Coach arena based lessons and then lead trail rides on and off property. 16 horses owned by camp and on site barn/facilities.

• Fly Fishing Guides-Coach fishing on site at our fully stocked trout pond and lead trips off site into Pisgah Forest

• Survivalists-Teach camouflage, trapping, shelter building and fire starting

• Whitewater Kayak Specialists-Coach on site skills and then lead off site trips on premier white water in WNC up to class 3. Subsidized ACA Kayak Certs available.

• Raft Guides-All training provided. Being comfortable in moving water a must.

Always wanted to spend a summer guiding rafts down epic rivers? This summer you can! We put all of our raft guides through an extensive 5 day raft guiding course as well as a Level 3 Swift Water Rescue Technician course both which are fully covered by Camp Carolina. Spend your days guiding campers down the French Broad Section 9 as well as the Upper Pigeon River. We are looking for staff that are keen to learn more about raft guiding, are confident in moving water, are creative, fun and love children and are ready to be fully immersed in our outdoor adventure program.

Love wakeboarding, skiing and tubing and have experience driving boats? Camp Carolina has the most epic job available! Spend your summer driving new Axis wakeboarding boats on the beautiful Lake Jocassee on our full day wakeboarding trips for our campers. Intermediate + experience driving boats and wakeboarding. We provide and pay for all training courses related to the position.

Love skateboarding and want to spend your summer coaching the next generation of skaters? Apply to work at the Camp Carolina skate park this summer! We have an awesome indoor skate park with a half-pipe as well as a custom-built outdoor bowl. We are looking for intermediate to experienced skaters to coach beginner + children.

Our coaches run activities on site with our amazing base camp facilities while having the opportunity to experience cross training in High Adventure activities and participating in off site trips (wake baording, climbing, biking etc) on their time off. Our staff are enthusiastic, positive and selfless individuals who aren't scared to get muddy, dance and yell with their campers during an epic evening program! Experience or a passion for an activity required. We provide and pay for all training required to safely lead the activity.

Camp Carolina is a summer camp paradise located in the Blue Ridge mountains. Established in 1924 the rich history and traditions shine through. Our goal is to inspire and motivate the next generation of True Gentleman through positive role-modeling in our camp community while experiencing adventure on our Adventure Trip Program (discovering the magic of the outdoors through high adventure sports) and our traditional camp program (up to 20 activities based on-site). We are building our team with diverse employees from over 15 countries with a huge variety of backgrounds and experiences to help our campers discover new cultures and experiences. All accommodations and laundry are covered. Depending on your role you will be in a rustic cabin with campers or dorm-style housing. We have a staff lounge with wifi, computers, TV and a kitchen. Our food is insane! Prepared from scratch, we source local and organic produce and cater for vegan, vegetarian, gluten-free, etc. On your time off we understand you want to adventure as well! We provide trips for our staff - wakeboarding on lake Jocassee, climbing at looking glass, mountain biking at DuPont, camping in Pisgah, etc with qualified staff, transportation, and equipment. 

COVID-19 update. Summer 2021 is ON! We plan on testing all campers and staff on arrival and campers operating in subgroups along with enhanced cleaning and sanitizing and mask-wearing. We will follow all state and federal guidelines and do everything we can to keep our community safe. The same incredible culture, enthusiasm and epic trips and activities will still be happening.
