Whitewater Paddle Instructor


 

Our Boulder and Golden, Colorado-based Whitewater Paddle Instructors will co-lead a group of up to 13 campers through a progressively challenging program learning white water kayaking, stand-up paddleboarding, and Leave No Trace principles.Our Instructors serve as a role model for campers teaching them important whitewater safety protocols, exhibiting appropriate behaviors, and creating a positive environment for learning and growth. Our Instructors are representatives of Avid to both campers and parents and live our core values in everything we do. Training for our Boulder and Golden Instructors begins May 22 or 28 (program depending) with programs running through August 4 - 18 (program depending). 

 

Qualifications:
Personal and/or professional experience in whitewater kayaking and/or stand-up paddleboarding is a must have! While at least 1+ years of experience working with kids in a professional or volunteer setting is preferred, candidates with extensive experience with whitewater paddle sports are still highly encouraged to apply. A Basic First Aid and CPR certification is required by the start of camp, but we’ll point you in the right direction to get certified before camp starts! Staff must be at least 21 years of age by the start of camp to transport campers in Avid4 vans. Instructors must be at least 18 years of age by the start of camp, however, staff that qualify to drive for our programs are preferred.

We believe in transparency about compensation at all of our camp locations. We post all of our base salaries on our website and reward staff with additional compensation and bonuses based on experience and relevant certifications (such as SPI, WFR/WFA, teacher’s license, etc.)
