Hiring:
Outdoor Guide (River trips, Mountain Biking, Hiking, Vehicle Tours, Birding tours)
Guiding and assisting on day and overnight river trips on the Rio Grande, which includes paddling your own canoe or raft thru class I and II rapids, prepping and cooking meals - dinner and breakfast for overnights, lunch buffet for day trips. Driving to and from river access points, picking up clients and guides, dropping off vehicles at access points are additional duties, as well as washing/cleaning boats, paddles, PFD's and vehicles at end of trips. We also guide clients on day hikes on various National and State park trails and some overnight backpacking trips on same trails. All the trips we guide are in Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and Devils River State Natural Area. The overnight trips we do can range from 2-7 days, the average group size is 4-6 persons depending on time of year.
Job Descriptions and Qualifications:
Canoeing, Rafting, Kayaking, & Hiking clients on day trips and multi-day trips in the Big Bend National Park, Big Bend Ranch State Park, and the Devil's River State Natural Area.
All applicants must have:
Minimum Wilderness Advanced First Aid (WAFA) or greater: Wilderness First Response (WFR), Wilderness Emergency Medical Technician (WEMT)
Some experience paddling a watercraft
Personal Transportation
Valid Driver's License
Proof of Covid 19 Vaccination
