Alaska Glacier Lodge, is nestled between the Knik River and the Chugach mountains just under an hour from Anchorage, in the Knik River Valley. The lodge offers a full service restaurant, the ‘Ravens Perch’ and is the home for Alaskas premier helicopter tour company ‘Alaska Helicopter Tours’. Our family owned lodge is seeking to fill the following positions for the 2023 season:
Sous Chef, Breakfast Chef, Line Cooks, Prep Cooks, Kitchen Helpers, Housekeeping Manager, Housekeepers.

The Raven's Perch Restaurant is seeking a skilled and passionate Sous Chef to join our culinary team. We are a high-end wilderness lodge located in the stunning surroundings of Alaska, offering a unique dining experience for our guests.
As the Sous Chef, you will be responsible for assisting the Executive Chef in all kitchen operations, including menu planning, food preparation, and kitchen management. You will play a critical role in ensuring the highest quality of food and service is delivered to our guests.
Responsibilities:
Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and recipe development.
Ensure the kitchen runs smoothly and efficiently, supervising kitchen staff and delegating tasks as needed. Be a positive and effective leader.
Maintain the highest standards of food preparation, quality, and presentation.
Ensure all kitchen equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
Ensure all food storage areas are kept clean, organized and meet health and safety standards.
Work closely with the front of house team to ensure seamless service for guests.
Participate in daily and weekly inventory management to minimize waste and ensure food costs are controlled
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years of experience as a Sous Chef or similar role in a high-end kitchen.
Proven experience in menu planning, recipe development, and kitchen management.
Knowledge of culinary techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
Strong leadership skills, with the ability to lead and motivate a team.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Passion for creating exceptional culinary experiences for guests.

Breakfast Chef

We are looking for a passionate and talented Breakfast Chef to join our team at Ravens Perch. The successful candidate will be responsible for creating delicious and innovative breakfast dishes that will delight our guests.
Responsibilities:
Work closely with the management team to design and prepare a menu of delicious breakfast dishes that will appeal to a wide range of customers
Prepare and cook all breakfast items to order, ensuring that each dish is presented to the highest standard
Ensure that all kitchen operations run smoothly and efficiently during breakfast service
Maintain a high level of cleanliness and hygiene in the kitchen
Manage and train kitchen staff, ensuring that they are knowledgeable and skilled in their roles
Work closely with the restaurant management team to ensure that all menu items are in line with the overall concept and vision of the restaurant
Ensure that food and supply ordering is carried out in a timely and cost-effective manner
Manage food waste and maintain food cost margins in line with budget
Requirements:
A minimum of 2 years' experience as a Breakfast Chef or in a similar role

Excellent organizational and time management skills
Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment

Line Cooks

The Ravens Perch is a high-volume and fast-paced restaurant looking for experienced line cooks to join our culinary team. The ideal candidate will have the ability to produce high quality plates in a timely manner, possess a positive attitude, and have a strong work ethic.
Responsibilities:
Prepare and cook menu items according to standard recipes and menu specifications
Ensure all food safety requirements are followed and adhere to strict hygiene and sanitation standards
Maintain a clean and organized work station and kitchen
Ability to work efficiently in a team environment and follow instructions from the head chef
Flexibility to adapt to changing menu items and restaurant needs
Reliability and punctuality is a must
Requirements:
2+ years of line cooking experience in a high-volume kitchen
Knowledge of cooking techniques and knowledge of food preparation and presentation
Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
Positive attitude and strong communication skills
Ability to stand for extended periods of time and lift heavy object

Prep Cook

A prep cook is responsible for preparing ingredients and assisting in the creation of menu items in a kitchen setting.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Work with the Chef and Sous Chef to create great food while being friendly and fun to work with
Prepare ingredients for menu items, including washing, chopping, and measuring.
Follow recipes and presentation specifications to ensure consistent quality.
Cook and bake various foods, such as sauces, soups, and breads.
Maintain a clean and organized work area, including washing dishes and sanitizing surfaces.
Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines to ensure safe food handling.
Assist with inventory management, including ordering supplies and monitoring storage.
Support the kitchen team in various tasks as needed.
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Previous experience in a kitchen or food service setting is preferred.
Basic knowledge of cooking techniques, ingredients, and equipment.
Ability to take direction and follow recipes and presentation specifications.
Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and handle multiple tasks at once.
Good communication and teamwork skills.

We are looking for reliable and hardworking individuals to join our team as housekeepers at our beautiful glacier lodge in Alaska. As a housekeeper, you will be responsible for ensuring that guest rooms, common areas, and restrooms are clean, tidy, and welcoming.
Responsibilities:
Clean and maintain guest rooms and common areas to a high standard
Ensure that public restrooms are clean and well-stocked with supplies
Assist with laundry and linen services as needed
Help with other tasks as assigned by the lodge management team
Requirements:
Prior housekeeping experience preferred, but not required
Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high cleanliness standards
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Must be able to work on your feet for extended periods and lift up to 25 pounds

Additional Information About Alaska Glacier Lodge
Housing: We have limited housing onsite for kind and responsible seasonal staff. Our employees housing is private rooms in a small duplex style dry cabins. With shared cooking facilities, showers and bathrooms. Individual rooms are offered at $250 a month plus a security deposit returned at the end of the contracted season. Its comfy and cozy.
